Context based Insurance Subrogation Estimation Engine, Summer Intern, Abzooba

-
Capturing natural language constructs using NLP, in order to detect subrogation to find the party liable for accident from unstructured free flowing text. Implemented using the Stanford Dependency Parser, and developed an understanding of linguistic typed dependencies of the parser. Worked to extract key important dependency constructs which would form a NLP rule.
-
Worked on the existing Java framework to perform the functions by introducing MySQL Database queries into the system, therefore increasing the flexibility and efficiency of the system.
-
Created a framework that would segregate and organize unstructured text in four main categories. Damages : who was damaged, Causes : what caused the accident, Damage Annotator : the type of accident, Third Party : Responsible party.
-
Developed an interface that can easily be developed further by a programmer or a linguist with no programming knowledge. Technology Used: Java JDBC, MySQL, coreNLP.
EY
Fraud Analytics intern

Insurance Fraud Estimation

-
Supported Market Research on Fraud identification and Compliance tools and technologies.
-
Designed and developed data models to track historical data of claims in auto insurance industry.
-
Developed analytical models using Python to check likelihood of fraudulent claims using linear regression and associate rule mining
-
Identified 38 parameters related to claimant profiles which can potentially increase risk of a fraudulent claim.
